Ten Minutes in the Bible was created with one thing in mind:

Make good theatre possible without requiring a major productions.

Each play is approximately 10 minutes in length and is designed to work with a small cast, minimal scenery and few props.

AUDIENCE

The plays are intended for performers and audiences aged 16 and over.

They are suitable for adult and older teen audiences without requiring the production to be solemn or formal.

CAST

Each play has a small cast.

Where appropriate, casting can be flexible.

Check the individual play description for specific cast requirements.

COSTUMES

You choose the approach.

  • CONTEMPORARY (Set the story in today’s world.)
  • BIBLICAL PERIOD (Use costumes inspired by the period of the original story.)
  • MIXED / THEATRICAL (Combine contemporary and period elements for a more imaginative production.

There is no requirement for elaborate, historical costuming.

SETS

Minimal is ideal.

The plays are designed to work in spaces ranging from a traditional stage to a church hall, community room or other performance space.

A simple chair, table, bench or other basic piece may be all that is required.

PROPS

Few props.

Individual play descriptions identify the principal props required.

No major props budget required.
